Minimising disinfection to maximise health
In Australia, disinfection is the only legislated requirement for pool water treatment.
World best practise, to minimise combined chlorine, requires free chlorine be kept to a minimum.
This can only be achieved by designing pool water treatment plants in accordance with the DIN-19643 standard. Experience has shown that any alternatives are destined to failure, putting the health of swimmers at unnecessary risk.
Coincidentally, if a public pool is designed to the DIN-19643 standard the lowest cost of ownership can be realised over the 50-year expected life of the pool.
